BREEAM Excellent and WELL Building Standard Logistics Certification are the aims of a project that we are working on with Baytree Logistics. The scheme will deliver a major new industrial sector development where the base buildings will not only achieve BREEAM Excellent and EPC ‘A’ ratings, but are also registered to pursue certification through the WELL Building Standardâ„¢ (WELL).
The first phase of the new facility, comprising two buildings totalling 110,000 sqft, is being constructed in Dagenham, Essex, with future phases providing a further 250,000 sqft of grade A facilities.
The project embraces environmental sustainability and human health and wellness, delivering measurable environmental and social value.
Chetwoods, Mechanical and Electrical services consultants KTA and environmental consultants Delta-Simons have designed a variety of sustainable building features for Baytree. These include solar photovoltaics linked to battery storage, electric vehicle charging stations, air source heat pumps, enhanced use of recycled and recyclable materials, prefabricated building elements, low energy LED lighting and a super airtight, insulated building envelope, all of which will all be constructed within an enhanced landscape environment.
Further initiatives that will be included in the pursuit of BREEAM Excellent and WELL Building Standard Logistics certification include external gym equipment and numerous internal building features designed specifically to enhance the comfort and well-being of all building users, while responding to the market need to drive high performance buildings.
