Chetwoods are working with developers Baytree Logistics Properties to deliver a major new industrial sector project that embraces environmental sustainability and human health and wellness, delivering measurable environmental and social value.
The first phase of the new industrial development is being constructed in Dagenham Essex. Phase one comprises two buildings totalling 110,000 sqft, while future phases will provide a further 250,000 sq ft of grade A facilities. When completed, the base buildings will not only achieve BREEAM Excellent and EPC “A” ratings, they are also registered to pursue certification through the WELL Building Standard™ (WELL).
Chetwoods, Mechanical and Electrical services consultants KTA and environmental consultants Delta-Simons have designed a variety of sustainable building features for Baytree, including solar photovoltaics linked to battery storage, electric vehicle charging stations, air source heat pumps, enhanced use of recycled and recyclable materials, prefabricated building elements, low energy LED lighting and a super airtight, insulated building envelope, all of which will all be constructed within an enhanced landscape environment.
Initiatives to be included in the pursuit of BREEAM and WELL certification include external gym equipment and the provision of numerous internal building features which have been designed specifically to enhance the comfort and well-being of all building users, while responding to the market need to drive high performance buildings.
