Hierbei handelt es sich um die maßgeschneiderte, 3.000 m2-umfassende, dreigeschossige Zentrale für den neuen Containerhafen und den Distributionspark London Gateway.

Das Gebäude ist der zentrale Knotenpunkt, von dem aus alle IT-Port-Operationen gesteuert werden. Es umfasst einen neuen IT-Kontrollraum für den Hafen, Entwicklungseinrichtungen, Kantinen, Verwaltungsbüros und Standortverwaltungsflächen.

Das Projekt besteht aus zwei Gebäudekörpern, die durch einen zentralen, verglasten Atriumraum miteinander verbunden sind. Durch diese Lösung wird natürliches Tageslichts optimal genutzt und der Überblick über den Hafen un die gesamte Parkanlage sicher gestellt.

Die Maßnahme umfasst mehrere ökologische und nachhaltige Merkmale, darunter energieeffiziente Beleuchtung, Wärmerecycling, Photovoltaikanlagen, regionale Verwendung von Holz und Bepflanzung, die dazu führen, dass das Gebäude mit dem BREEAM-Zertifikat “Sehr gut” ausgezeichnet wurde.

A bespoke 33,000 sqft three-storey landmark head office for the new London Gateway container port and distribution park. The building is the central hub from where all IT port operations will be controlled. It includes a new IT control room for the Port, development welfare facilities, canteen, administration offices and site management facilities.

The building consists of two accommodation blocks linked by a central glazed atrium space to maximise the use of natural daylight and views across the Port and Park. This is reflected in the envelope treatment of north and south blocks and use of a combination of glazed and semi-translucent curtain walling systems.

The scheme incorporates several environmental and sustainable features including energy efficient lighting, heat recycling, photo voltaic panels, responsibly sources timber and regional planting leading to th building being awarded a BREEAM ’Very Good’ rating.
